The Deal:
Firm specializing in independent and fleet driver services was acquired by mid-market private equity firm. Diligence was conducted by a large advisory firm (not Sabio) with recommendations to fork-lift replace a 15+ year legacy platform. Sabio was engaged post-close to develop a practical target state architecture to support an ambition Deal Thesis.
Sabio Engagement:
- Conducted a current-state assessment of all operational systems and aligned with the existing value chain.
- Developed target business functional and process models to align with Deal thesis
- Formulated a target state application, data, and infrastructure architecture to support the business model, leverage legacy platforms (where appropriate) and enable the firm to scale: customers, products, partners, etc
Business and Technology Outcome:
Sabio developed a strategic business and technology architecture to include
- Product and service oriented Target Operating Model
- A conceptual application architecture that would “ring-fence” complex legacy applications through cloud based micro services as well as accommodate future bolt-on acquisitions.
- A target state data architecure to integrate multiple internal / external data sources through the deployment of a “common data model”
- A target state infrastructure architecture to move all on-premis platforms to the cloud
Target implemented Sabio’s recommended architecture strategy: nearing exit, anticipated valuation multiple exceeds 8x
